Privacy Policy & Terms of Use

Effective date: October 15, 2026

FloridaRules.net (the “Site”) is operated by Weidner Law (Matthew D. Weidner, P.A.), 856 2nd Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33701 (“Weidner Law,” “we,” “us”). This page explains what information the Site and our related tools collect, how YouTube API Services are used, and the terms that apply when you use the Site.

1. Use of YouTube API Services

The Site and our internal channel-management tools use YouTube API Services to display and manage videos published on Weidner Law’s own YouTube channel (youtube.com/@weidnerlaw). Specifically:

  • Public website features. Rule pages and video pages show Weidner Law videos, playlists and related information (titles, descriptions, thumbnails and publication dates) retrieved through the YouTube Data API, and play videos using the embedded YouTube player. Visitors do not sign in with Google and we do not access any visitor’s YouTube or Google account.
  • Internal channel tools. Authorized Weidner Law personnel and our technology contractor use an internal tool, authorized through Google OAuth by the channel owner, to organize Weidner Law’s own channel: updating video titles, descriptions, captions and playlists, uploading Weidner Law videos, and reviewing YouTube Analytics reports for the channel. This tool is not offered to the public and accesses only Weidner Law’s own channel.

By using the Site, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy (http://www.google.com/policies/privacy).

2. Information we collect and how we use it

  • Information you send us. If you contact us through the Site’s contact form, we receive the information you provide (such as your name, email address and message) and use it only to respond to you. We keep these messages until your inquiry is resolved and for as long as needed for the firm’s records. Contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship.
  • Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard server information such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the date and time of a visit. We use it to operate, secure and improve the Site.
  • YouTube API data. The Site stores YouTube API data about Weidner Law’s own public videos (for example, titles, descriptions, thumbnails and video IDs) in temporary caches so pages load quickly. The internal tool stores the channel owner’s OAuth authorization on a secured computer maintained by our technology contractor, Linxy Media LLC, so it can act on the channel. We do not collect, store or use YouTube or Google account information of Site visitors.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except service providers that help us run the Site (such as our hosting provider), when required by law, or to protect our rights.

3. Cookies and embedded content

The Site may use cookies and similar technologies needed for it to function. Pages that contain embedded YouTube videos load the YouTube player, which is provided by Google and may store or read information on your device (including cookies) and collect information about your viewing according to the Google Privacy Policy. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed mode (youtube-nocookie.com) where available, and videos load only when you choose to play them. Pages also load web fonts from Google Fonts, video thumbnail images from YouTube’s image servers, and script libraries from Cloudflare’s cdnjs service; these providers receive your IP address and basic browser information when the page loads. You can manage cookies in your browser settings.

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

4. Storage, refresh and deletion of API data

  • Cached YouTube API data is refreshed automatically and is not kept for more than 30 days without being refreshed or deleted.
  • Channel analytics retrieved through the internal tool are used only for Weidner Law’s own reporting and are deleted when no longer needed.
  • If the channel owner’s authorization is revoked, the stored OAuth credentials are deleted and no further access occurs.
  • To ask us to delete information you have sent us, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.

5. Revoking access

Anyone who has authorized one of our tools to access a Google account can revoke that access at any time through the Google security settings page at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.

6. Terms of use

  • The Site is an unofficial reference to the Florida Rules of Court and related Florida Statutes. It is not affiliated with the Florida Supreme Court or The Florida Bar. Always confirm rule text against official sources.
  • Content on the Site, including commentary and videos, is general information and is not legal advice. Using the Site or contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship.
  • Videos and video information shown on the Site are provided through YouTube API Services, and your use of them is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.
  • The Site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Weidner Law is not liable for any damages arising from use of the Site.

7. Changes and contact

We may update this page from time to time; the effective date above shows when it last changed. Questions about this policy or requests about your information can be sent through our contact page or by mail to Weidner Law, 856 2nd Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
